Find a quiet moment and private space ... maybe that is even in your car while waiting in a parking lot.

Read some or all of the selected texts as provided; if you choose to engage the reflection questions below, reading all of the texts will help.

Whatever portion(s) you read, "listen" for what may "ring a bell" with you.  What you "hear" what "stands out," and/or what "sticks with you" could be about anything and that might be exactly what God wants to use to encourage and/or teach you.

If you read the texts, or any of them, consider these questions:

  • What in “these days” of ours might be similar to “those” days about which Luke begins his narrative of the Nativity … The First Advent?

  • Are there particular things in your life that make you “taste” the struggle as may have been present . . .
    • . . . in the days of Jesus’ first coming?
    • . . . in the days about which Jeremiah wrote after the destruction of Jerusalem?
    • . . . in the days of Isaiah’s ministry?
    • . . . in the days of Jesus’ life? In the days of Paul’s & Timothy’s ministries?

  • How can you see God at work in the midst of even “these” days of ours as we now know, and they (Jeremiah, Isaiah, Jesus, Paul, and Timothy) knew, He was at work in “those” days of yesteryear?

  • What & Who is the basis of our Hope and how do we manage to remain living in the midst of such Hope?

Now ...

  • PRAY for God to continue to stir the thoughts that He may have planted in your mind due to engaging this reflection time.
  • SEEK more knowledge on the topic(s) from the Bible, another believer, and in more prayer as you ask The Holy Spirit to lead you into His Truth.

If you would like more resources to explore what you think God may be showing you for this time in your life, the internet can have some excellent resoruces.  HOWEVER, you must also be aware that there are questionable resources.

Feel free to chat with one of our pastors or any other seasoned believer whom you trust.

KEEP PRAYING and SEEKING God during this season .... and every season thereafter!
